1933  Derham Tourster J Duesenberg

The final assembly of the Derham Tourster with the Top-Up. The paint finish on the top and trunk - cellulose - has a matting agent in it to dull the gloss, is thicker than normal and sprayed on a low pressure  to give the stippled orange peel effect, that otherwise we all try to prevent.  This I use to simulate leather and the cloth top, but in this case I further improved the fabric top effect, by brushing the then hardened paint very lightly with a soft brass wire brush.  Once or twice lengthwise and across, which left the effect of the weave of the cloth.
