The Clipper Ship ‘Lightning’ came off the back shelf again in 2007 to restart work on her but still between customers work, then in 2015 he set out full time to complete her. The scale is 96th - 1/8” to one foot, the hull being of birch ply and basswood over planked with holly.  The remaining wood work is in holly and lemonwood.  Detailing in brass, with all rigging created on a rope walk to the original specification.  His next project in ship modelling will be a water line model of the four masted steel barque Parma, after seeing my own work with the Falls of Clyde. A model of the American Clipper ‘Red Jacket’ is also being planned.
