P3 Alfa Romeo & Louvre Press

The Louvre Press was originally created to accomodate the 32 louvres required for the 1/15th scale 1931 P3 Alfa Romeo miniature, up to this time my louvres on the earlier subjects had all been of the same size and shape, in the main on the smaller 1/20th scale miniatures.  The design of the cam mechanism was taken from the press used in the construction kit package call the Prestacon - a then competitor of the better known Meccano construction kits.  My example is built from steel gauge plate on a cast iron base plate, and can be adapted to take several types of tooling.
